I Went To Thailand Post-Covid: Here’s What Happened

Last year, I went to Japan and I had to jump through multiple hoops with an almost endless sea of paperwork and quarantine measures that is borderline overkill. Ever since my then, entering Japan is still strict as ever with the same amount of paperwork. The only thing that changed is that tourists can now enter Japan, but only as part of a tour group. So this year I decided to go to Thailand with some friends, and here is what I experienced planning and going to Thailand post-covid!

Travel Requirements

If you were trying to enter the Kingdom of Thailand about half a year ago, you would have to gone through a series of paperwork and exhausting prep work that would have rivaled Japan’s entry requirements. Here’s what you would have needed in order to enter:

  • A negative Covid test 72 hours before your flight.
  • Vaccinated with the approved list of vaccinations.
  • An approved application for the “Test & Go” program from the government approved website. If approved, travelers would have to quarantine at a hotel of their choice for one night and would have to wait for their Covid test to turn negative. If the test became positive then travelers would have to stay for a week.
