The reality TV adaptation of Hwang Dong-hyuk’s South Korean drama Squid Game, has invoked a a broad spectrum of opinions and critiques that have people torn on whether or not it is good. However, there is no denying that the series is not just a mere adaptation but an ambitious attempt to translate a fictional narrative into a reality TV format.

What Is ‘Squid Game: The Challenge’ About?

Similarly to the original series, Squid Game: The Challenge takes 456 real players and has them put their skills and character to the ultimate test for a chance to win a life-changing $4.56 million cash prize. As of date, the cash prize is the largest in game show history, breaking the previous record of $2.6 million from The Million Second Quiz.
